FAQ'S about Life and Leadership Coaching

Q:  What is a Coach?
A: As athletes work with a coach to learn new skills and help push them to grow, so do life and leadership coaches. We believe you are where you are supposed to be in life but may face challenges that prevent you from going where you want to be.

Q:  What is the objective of a Coaching session?
A: Our desired outcome of meetings is for you to find the best path for you to meet your goals. We listen to you, ask big questions, and help you move forward.

Q:  What is the difference between a Coach and a Psychologist?
A: Coaching is not therapy. Coaches are forward-focused while therapy is typically retrospective. Mentoring occurs when a person shares their experience with you in hopes you will learn from their story. Coaching challenges you to find answers within your own wisdom. Q:  How many Coaching sessions should I anticipate before I see results?
A: It depends upon your individual goal. Most clients begin taking notes during the first session. Brand & May offers a five-session package that satisfies many, with most clients renewing for at least one more set of five sessions. We recommend beginning every two weeks, then moving to once-per-month meetings.

Q:  How long must I commit to working with a Coach?
A: We do not hold you to a contract. You can work with us for as many or as few one-hour sessions as you wish.

Q:  Can I hire Brand & May Coaching for a short-term, special project?
A: Yes, please call and let’s talk about your project.

Q:  Does Brand & May Coaching offer virtual Coaching sessions?
A: We have clients across the United States. For those outside our home base of Central Florida, we offer meetings via Teams, Zoom, and telephone calls.

Q:  What is Brand & May's privacy policy regarding my Coaching sessions?
A: We will not sell or share your information. Brand & May is bound by the code of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). This includes privacy. Click here for more information https://coachingfederation.org/ethics/code-of-ethics

Q:  Why would people who are already successful hire a Coach?
A: “It’s lonely at the top” is a common phrase for a reason. Who do you turn to as your safe space when you want feedback, to hone new strategies or to grow to your next season of life? Brand & May offers a safe space to be you and to talk openly whenever we meet.

Q:  Shouldn't I be able to reach my goals on my own?
A: Working with a coach can accelerate your progress and we may bring a new perspective to you.

Q:  Does Brand & May accept health insurance for Coaching sessions?
A: Great question, but no – we do not accept health insurance.
